Baseball5 to make another hit in Ankara, a city of cultural significance

In a city of tradition, the next generation of Baseball5 stars will showcase their best skills and make more history.

The city of history and civilisation, Ankara is the capital city of Türkiye and the second largest city embracing five million citizens in the country after Istanbul with 15 million.

It is located at the heart of both Türkiye and Central Anatolia. The name Ankara derives from the Celtic word of Ancyra, meaning Anchor, given by Phrygian king Midas who founded the city where he found a ship anchor and gave it this name.

Ankara is fulfilled with cultural landmarks and historical significance.

Anıtkabir, the Mausoleum of Atatürk is one of the masterpieces of modern architecture in Türkiye. Atatürk is the leader of the Turkish War of Independence, which occurred from 1919 to 1923. The first stage of construction began in 1944 and was completed at the fourth stage in 1953. 

Ankara Kalesi, the castle having long history is nowadays well-known as a spot where you can see the entire view of the city.

Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi (Museum of Anatolian Civilizations) is also a must-see in Ankara. The museum displays an extensive collection of sculptures, ceramics, artifacts, mosaics, Buddhist art, coins, and more. The museum building was once used as a school during the Ottoman Empire and was converted into a museum.

In this city of tradition, the next generation of Baseball5 stars from the 12 teams will showcase their best skills and make another history. The inaugural WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup will begin on 10 October, and the world champion will be crowned on 15 October.
