Baseball5 workshop held in Austria

During their inaugural convention in November, the National Federation hosted a workshop on the five-on-five version of baseball/softball.

The Austrian Baseball Softball Federation (ABF) introduced Baseball5 during their inaugural Coach and Official Convention, held from 24 to 26 November.

WBSC Baseball5 instructor Michael Johnstone led a workshop with 34 participating coaches. The course introduced the participants to the five-on-five version of baseball/softball and the game's rules.

"Some participants were familiar with Baseball5; for some, it was new," commented secretary-general Matthias Scheicher. "Everyone really enjoyed the workshop and had fun playing Baseball5."

ABF launched its first convention to respond to the increased demand for coach training in Austria.

"It became an opportunity for club officials to gain better insights into our association," added Scheicher. "Additionally, we aimed to create the opportunity for an intensive exchange."

The Convention included 24 presentations.

"Renowned speakers from the USA, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Brazil, and Austria shared their expertise," said Scheicher. "The topics were presented to the 34 participants through both theoretical and practical sessions with an interactive approach."

The outcome was a resounding success. "We received predominantly positive feedback from the participants and are motivated to conduct more conventions in the future," concluded Scheicher
