Chinese Taipei's win over Czechia clinches Super Round spot for the Asian squad and Cuba

Chinese Taipei topped Czechia, 7-2, on Day 3 of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico.

Tien-Szu Huang tossed 5.1 innings in relief, giving up three hits, one run and two walks, to guide Chinese Taipei to their second win of the tournament. The Asian squad defeated this afternoon Czechia, 7-2, on Day 3 of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. The win secures a spot in the Super Round for both Cuba and Chinese Taipei, who lead Group A at 2-0 and will face each other on Tuesday.

Chinese Taipei scored three runs in the first to take the early lead. Chun-Chih Fu hit an RBI double, while Tien-Szu Huang and Ruei Cyuan scored on wild pitches. However, Czechia scored one in the bottom half, on a run-scoring single by Nikolas Hluchy.

It was the only inning tossed by Sheng-Jie Tsai, who gave up two hits, two walks and one run. Tien-Szu Huang came in relief in the second and allowed one run in the second frame, when Max Prejda brought in Czechia's second run of the game. From that point, Tsai was in control of the game and shutting down the Czech lineup. 

For Czechia, the loss went to Filip Nemec, who allowed three hits, three runs and four walks in two innings.

Chinese Taipei added four insurance runs in the top of the seventh, three of them after a costly defensive error.
