Ciego de Avila to host Cuba Baseball5 National Tournament

The event is named 'Copa Venezolana' to honour the Venezuela District in the Ciego de Avila Province, which will host the games in Cuba. Briandy Molina, Orlando Amador, Lietis Arcia, and coaches Pablo Terry and Sergio Arturo Pérez will represent the World Champion National Team.

The XIX de Abril field in the Venezuela District of the Ciego de Avila Province in Cuba will host an eight-team Baseball5 tournament named Copa Venezolana to honour the hosts.

The eight participants will be the U-18 and U-23 Ciego de Avila selections, the National Champions Havana, Sancti Spiritus and four clubs of the Venezuela District: Cazadores, Pinta Gracias, Faranduleros and Leñadores.

The eight teams will compete in a round robin format with the semifinals and finals are scheduled for Sunday, 14 January.

Briandy Molina, the inaugural WBSC Baseball5 World Cup MVP, and Orlando Amador will compete for Havana and hold Baseball5 development clinics.

Other Baseball5 World Champions are Lietis Arcia, who will play for Sancti Spiritus, head coach Pablo Terry and assistant coach Sergio Arturo Pérez. Sancti Spiritus' Segio Matamoros Valle was part of the Youth Baseball5 World Cup pre-selection.
