Cuba comes from behind to top Panama 8-3, remain undefeated

Cuba sits atop of the Super Round standings with 2-0, while Panama drops to 0-2.

Cuba earned their second win of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup Super Round with a come-from-behind victory over Panama, 8-3. The Cuban team recovered from an early 3-1 deficit in the first two innings. The game was called after four innings due to heavy rain.

Panama got the lead in the game in the first inning with RBI singles by Juan Caballero and Jorge Pinilla to take a 3-1 lead in the top of the second. However, Cuba bounced back in the bottom of the second to tie the game, 3-3. 

Cuba exploded in the bottom of the fourth with a five-run rally, highlighted by a two-run triple by Maikel Rodriguez.

In the top of the fifth, heavy rain and unplayable conditions forced the game to be called early.

Ernest Machado was the winner after one inning of work in relief. Jeremy Vargas took the loss.
