Czechia beat Denmark in men’s softball Fastpitch Challenge 2023 friendly series
The two European nations clashed in seven games at Havlickuv Brod, Czechia, to tune up for this year’s European Championship.
World No. 6 Czechia hosted No. 11 Denmark at Havlickuv Brod for the men’s softball Fastpitch Challenge, a seven-game series to tune up for this year’s European Championship. The series ran from 9 to 11 June at the venue which hosted the 2019 Men’s Softball World Cup, with the home team taking five wins.
On Friday, Czechia beat Denmark 8-1 in six innings; while both teams split the four games on Saturday, with 9-6 and 5-4 wins for Denmark, and a pair of victories for the host team, 11-1 (four innings) and 8-4.
Czechia grabbed the last two games of the WBSC Europe-sanctioned series on Sunday with scores of 5-3 and 11-0 (four innings).
The Fastpitch Challenge 2023 was sanctioned by WBSC Europe, and served as preparation for the Men’s Softball European Championship 2023, scheduled from 24 to 29 July in Hørsholm, Denmark. A total of 12 teams will participate in the event: Czechia, Denmark, No. 16 Netherlands, No. 17 Israel, No. 21 Croatia, No. 23 France, No. 26 Slovakia, No. 30 Sweden, No. 32 Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, and Spain.
