Esteban Gallard’s grand slam highlights Mexico’s 29-0 win over New Zealand
Mexico finished at the top of the Placement Round undefeated and will be seventh overall in the VII U-12 Baseball World Cup.
Esteban Gallard hit a grand slam to deep left-centre to fix the final score to 29-0 as World No. 3 Mexico outscored No. 45 New Zealand to finish undefeated in the VII WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup Placement Round.
In the bottom of the first, Mexico took the lead, 5-0.
Mexico
then presented the whole lineup at-bat, added another 12 runs in the second, extending
the lead to 17-0.
The
momentum of Mexico continued as they extended the lead to 29-0, including Gallard’s
grand slam before the game ended.
Mexico’s
starter Jose Camargo pitched four innings, struck out ten, allowing one hit by
Curtis Campbell.
Mexico finished the Placement Round with a 5-0 record, while New Zealand finished at 0-5.
