Formosa Cup International University Baseball Challenge to be held in Tainan

USA, Japan, Korea and Chinese Taipei to participate

Chinese Taipei Baseball Association with the support of a local sponsor will host 2013 FORMOSA CUP International University Baseball Challenge to be held at the Tainan Municipal Baseball Stadium in the southern city of Tainan, Taiwan over the Thanks Giving weekend from November 28th – November 30th, 2013.

The Formosa Cup calls for the 4 teams to play three games each.  Japan will be represented by Jobu University of Kankoshin Student Baseball Federation which won the first national title after their 12 attempts by 6-5 against Asia University of Tohto University Baseball League on June 16, 2013 at Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo.  26 University Baseball Regional Champions joined the 62nd National University Baseball Championship and Tetsu Yokota of Jobu University was chosen as MVP as well as Best Pitcher with 4 wins and ERA 2.12.

Pepperdine University “Waves” Team of West Coast Conference will represent U.S.A. while the teams from Korea and Taiwan have yet to be named.
