Four teams qualify to the Super Round at U-17 Women’s Softball Asia Cup

China, Japan, the Philippines and Chinese Taipei will play for three spots in the U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup

After two days of competition, four teams have clinched their tickets to the Super Round of the U-17 Women’s Softball Asia Cup, a qualifier event for the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup next year. China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and the Philippines will play for the continental title. The top 3 teams of this event will represent Asia in the aforementioned World Cup.

In Group A, China and Japan won their games against Thailand and India, and will close the opening round facing each other, in a game with consequences for the super round since they will carry the result to the decisive round.

The three-team Group B is in the same situation. Chinese Taipei and the Philippines prevailed over Korea, and will play each other the last game of the opening round battling to advance to the super round with positive record.

The competition has been tailored for U17 so that the athletes from the qualified teams may still be eligible to play in the World Cup next year.

The inaugural U-17 Women Softball Asia Cup is being played at the Yilong Baseball-Softball Stadium in Guizhou, China.
