Great Britain to host WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup 2024

The second edition of the invitational tournament is scheduled from 27 to 29 September at Farnham Park, the UK’s only purpose-built, multifield baseball and softball facility.

Great Britain will host the second edition of the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup from 27 to 29 September at the National Baseball and Softball Complex at Farnham Park in Buckinghamshire, England - just outside London.

"We are delighted to announce the second edition of this fantastic tournament," commented WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. "The WBSC firmly believes that baseball/softball is one of the most inclusive sports. We are always looking to offer the international community more opportunities to play and are also exploring ways to expand to other disability categories. Blind Baseball has great potential as a paralympic discipline and tool for social inclusion".

The event will be organised by the British Baseball Federation, the national governing body, and supported by BaseballSoftballUK

"We are delighted to bring this event to Great Britain with its burgeoning blind baseball community," said Chris Deacon, President of the British Baseball Federation. "It's an inspiring game to watch, and we look forward to welcoming athletes from around the globe to Farnham Park."

The tournament will be invitational. The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and the local organizers will announce the participating teams later.

Farnham Park features two dual-use baseball and softball fields and three softball/youth baseball diamonds.

As well as hosting GB Baseball training sessions and the national playoffs, it is also the national training home for the Great Britain Softball National Team programme.

Italy won the six-team first edition played in Beek, Netherlands, in August 2022.
