Hajny, Buchner, Magula homer as Czechia beat Team WBSC to secure seventh place

Jonas Hajny pitched five innings of one-hit ball for Czechia, with seven strikeouts and a walk. He earned his third win of the tournament, and closed the World Cup with a 0.78 ERA, with 31 strikeouts.

Jakub Hajny, Adam Buchner and Martin Magula each ripped a home run for Czechia in their five-inning, 8-0 victory over Team WBSC, concluding their participation in the WBSC U-23 Men's Softball World Cup in seventh place.

Czechia took the lead early in the game, as Jakub Hajny drove in Martin Magula with a sacrifice fly, followed by Adam Buchner's single for Geroge Harris to put the score at 2-0 in the first inning. Lukas Kubat scored in the next inning with an infield hit by Jannis El Amin to lead 3-0.

A pair of homers in the third inning off the bats of Jakub Hajny and Adam Buchner doubled Czechia’s lead. Hajny led off the inning with a shot to left field, while Buchner hit a two-run bomb over the centre field fence.

Czechia capped the game with two more runs for a decisive lead of 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth. Martin Magula homered to the centre field, and Adam Buchner hit an RBI triple to score Jakub Hajny.
