Historic Blind Baseball European Championship to open on 7 October in Bologna, Italy

Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands will compete in a round-robin on Saturday, 7 October. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, 8 October.

The Leoni Stadium in Bologna, Italy, will host on Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 October, the first Blind Baseball European Championship. The tournament is organized by WBSC Europe in collaboration with the Italian Baseball Softball Federation (FIBS) and the Italian Blind Baseball Association (AIBxC, a WBSC Associate Member) and supported by the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP), the Emilia Romagna Region and the City of Bologna.

Five National Teams will participate in the maiden event: Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. In August 2022, they all participated in the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup, the first-ever Blind Baseball international tournament sanctioned by the WBSC.

The five participants will compete in a round-robin opening stage. Each game will last one hour of five innings. The top two finishers of the round-robin will play for the European title. The third and fourth-place teams will compete for a bronze medal. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, 8 October.

The first Blind Baseball European Championship will be preceded by a Coaches Clinic.
