Born in 2001, Morresi represented Italy at the U-23 European Championship. He starred in 46 New Mexico Junior College games before competing in the Italian Baseball League for his hometown, Macerata, in 2023.

Lorenzo Morresi, 23, committed to the University of Texas San Antonio for the 2024 College season.

Since his debut in the Italian Serie A, formerly known as the Italian Baseball League, in 2020, Morresi has been regarded as a top-hitting prospect. He has a .354 career batting average in Italy, and in 2023, he starred for the New Mexico Junior College. He appeared in 46 games, posting a .341 batting average with four home runs and 38 runs batted in.

"I like coach Pat Hallmark," said Morresi in an interview with the Baseball.it website. "He is an old-fashioned coach who knows how to deal with young players. He is a former catcher, and I think he can help my development."

Morresi went 4-for-11, a .364 batting average, with one home run and six RBIs for Italy at the U-23 European Championship 2023.

He will major in economics at the University of Texas San Antonio.

After the season, the switch-hitting Italian catcher will become eligible for the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft.

"I would love an opportunity to play professional," he said. "It it doesn't come up, I will go back to Italy and play for Macerata."
