The Lesotho Baseball and Softball Association (LBSA) is proposing a plan aimed at developing the technical sector of coaching. The goal is “instilling the skills of playing baseball and softball in young athletes”.
The plan is an Olympic  Solidarity project, developed by LBSA together with WBSC and with the support of the Lesotho National Olympic Committee.

Another OLYMPIC SOLIDARITY project

LBSA has the objective of training 50 Primary School (for children aged 6 through 15) coaches, in order to establish an active baseball and softball programme in the schools of 7 Districts. Each District will have a Technical Committee.
Each Region will send 2 teams (boys and girls) to a National Championship.
The programme will be developed through 4 phases, during a total 6 months. The LBSA Development Commission will supervise the whole process.

The first will be about building the coaches. School teachers and other local adults will be picked to follow coaching clinics, supported by WBSC and shaped to give these individuals the basic coaching skills.

The second phase will be about the development of athletes. Coaches that have followed clinics mentioned as phase 1 will be fully engaged in the process, also supported by WBSC envoy coaches, that is supposed to last 3 months.

Phase 3 is about the evaluation of players. At the end of the National Championship of Lesotho LBSA will select players chosen to represent the Country in international competitions

Through phase 4 the coaches trained in phase 1 will form the Committees that will be in charge of development in the 7 Districts. They will also be in charge of creating their own District Leagues.
