Mexico beat Czechia, Group A standings are final

The game resumed from the bottom of the first. Both teams started to earn runs in the latter innings. Mexico completed a win against Czechia, finishing the Opening Round as sixth-place finishers in Group A, while Czechia finished as the fifth.

World No. 3 Mexico defeated No. 15 Czechia, 4-1, in the makeup of game # 3, played as the opener of XXXI WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Day 9 in Taichung. Mexico finished fourth in Group A, with Czechia fifth and Australia sixth.

The game resumed from the bottom of the first, the moment of the suspension, on Thursday, 1 September.

After four scoreless innings, in the bottom of the fifth, Mexico reached on a defensive error and an infield single. Pitcher Jan Kozel could get to Isael Arias' bunt. Mexico also took advantage of another defensive error, and Santiago Contreras and Angel Nieblas scored the game's first two runs.

In the top of the sixth, Czechia’s Michal Sindelka singled to right field, eventually earning the run on a passed ball and cutting the gap to 2-1.

Back-to-back singles by Angel Ramirez and Angel Nieblas added two insurance runs for Mexico in the bottom of the sixth.

Mexico and Czechia will retake the field on Day 9 for their Placement Round games. Mexico will face No. 21 Spain, while Czechia will play No. 11 Panama.
