MLB announces pregame and postgame London Series programmes

Soul Symphony, The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Choir, Jess Glynne, and Marisha Wallace will provide musical entertainment and perform the National Anthems. Matthew Broderick and Rob McElhenney will throw ceremonial first pitches.

Major League Baseball (MLB) announced the pregame and postgame programmes for the London Series between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. The two games are scheduled on Saturday, 8, and Sunday, 9 June.

Saturday’s series opener will begin with a pregame performance by MLB’s resident house band, Soul Symphony, who will perform a 10-minute postgame set following each game.

Special guests from The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Choir will perform the UK and US National Anthems before award-winning actor and avid Mets fan Matthew Broderick throws out the ceremonial first pitch.

On Sunday, award-winning singer-songwriter Jess Glynne, who has over 10 billion global streams throughout her career, will perform before the series finale.

Welsh classical singing sensation Katherine Jenkins will perform the UK National Anthem, and Broadway musical star Marisha Wallace will sing the US National Anthem before actor, writer, producer, and notorious Phillies fan Rob McElhenney throws out the ceremonial first pitch.

DJ Jamie Anne, known around the UK for performing at sporting events, will also be on-site on Sunday to provide in-game entertainment.

The year 2024 marks the third edition of the London Series, following the inaugural series in June 2019 between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees and the 2023 series between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.
