The city of Wroclaw (the Capital of Silesia, south western Poland) opened a new baseball facility. The field is 110 meters long in center field (103 in left, 93 in right) and has a 2.5 meter fence. It is also equipped with 2 bullpens and 2 batting cages.
For the Wroclaw community it is a dream come true. Attempts to build a baseball field started 15 years ago.
The project was finally approved by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
In 2018, close to the baseball field, will start construction of a new softball field.
Wroclaw has a strong baseball community and hosts a baseball Academy. The Barons are the local team. They won the Polish Cup and will participate in the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) Confederation Cup Qualifier in 2018.
