Plans to build the first dedicated blind baseball field in Milan, Italy have been put in place with a request having been made to the Metropolitan City of Milan to convert an old sports field in the Sfraffa-Curie school, located in the Baggio neighbourhood, western Milan.

A partnership between the Bicocca University, the Lions Clubs International and their youth association Leo, the Italian Blind Baseball Association (AIBxC, a WBSC Associate Member), the Italian Baseball Softball Federation (FIBS) and the Milano 1946 club is behind the project.

The two blind baseball teams in Milan, Thunder's Five and Lampi, both participating in the Italian League (LIBCI), support the initiative while the Consuls General to Italy of Japan, the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and El Salvador witnessed the presentation.

There are 47,000 Lions Clubs in the world, combining 1.4 million associates. The Italian district has 1,300 Clubs and 48,000 associates.
