LA PAZ, Mexico – Canada went into the lion’s den to beat host-country Mexico 6-4 before a 3,500 sold-out crowd at Arturo C. Nahl Stadium on Friday night in the penultimate contest before the conclusion of the opening round-robin of the U-18 Pan-American Championship.
Canada and Mexico helped produce an electric atmosphere with passionate cheers of support for the home country.
Both Canada and Mexico had five wins and one loss going into battle.

Canada and Cuba will face-off against each other tonight for the right to play the U.S. in the gold medal finale.
The elite 18U Americas Championship also serves as a qualifier for the WBSC’s 2015 U-18 Baseball World Cup in Japan.
The nine-nation Pan-American Championship opened on Sept. 5 and will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 14.
