Olympic Week 2023: 1,000 kids enjoy Baseball, Softball and Baseball5 in Olympic capital

This was the fifth Olympic Week for baseball and softball, following appearances in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022; and the third edition for Baseball5.

For the fifth edition in a row, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) took part in the Olympic Week, an annual event during the October holidays dedicated to kids aged from 6 to 15 for them to discover sport and the world of Olympism. This year’s celebration was held at its traditional location of the Olympic Museum and its surroundings in the Olympic capital Lausanne in Switzerland from 15 to 19 October.

This was the fifth Olympic Week for baseball and softball, following appearances in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022; and the third edition for Baseball5.

The baseball, softball and Baseball5 showcase was organised this year with the great help of the Indians baseball club of Lausanne who managed around 1,000 kids over five days.

During the event, Premier12 baseball and playing cards were distributed as give aways from WBSC to all participants.

Thousands of kids enjoyed over 25 sports completely free of charge in Lausanne, including the WBSC offering: Playing catch, T-batting, the batting cage as well as Baseball5 games at the baseball, softball and Baseball5 sport initiation showcase.
