Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013: Official program & List of participants

Peace and Sport “L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” is delighted to announce the official program and deliver the list of participants of the first continental Peace and Sport Forum, Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013. The event will provide a unique platform to exchange ideas, share experience and inspire new ways to support peace development in the Arabic and Gulf region and beyond.

Peace and Sport “L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” is delighted to announce the official program and deliver the list of participants of the first continental Peace and Sport Forum, Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013. The event will provide a unique platform to exchange ideas, share experience and inspire new ways to support peace development in the Arabic and Gulf region and beyond.

The Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013 will offer a wide range of workshops and plenary discussions focusing on strategies to encourage Arab and global leaders to build sustainable peace through sport policies, and to showcase opportunities for sport-based initiatives to become active as a major factor in shaping societies and fostering the dialogue between nations in conflict.

Reinforcing the importance of sport in peace-building initiatives, the Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013 will welcome prominent elite athletes from across the globe such as Hicham El Gerrouj a Champion for Peace officiating as role models for the youth in the region. Among the notable speakers expected to attend the forum is Ms. Nawal El Moutawakel Vice President of IOC.

The Peace and Sport Dubai Forum 2013 will be held on April 23-24 at JW Marriott Marquis and will be the ideal platform to share knowledge and experience between the highest authorities from the worlds of politics, sport, the private sector, peace organizations and civil society. It will position sport as a tool for governments and international institutions to promote sustainable peace, to build bridges of understanding and to foster social cohesion between unsettled communities throughout the region through the key values of sport: teamwork, cooperation and mutual respect.
