Pitching, offense lead Japan one-hit shutout over France

Japan defeated France, 10-0, in six innings to close Day 3 of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico. The Japanese U-15 National Team scored in five of six innings and moved to 2-0 in Group B.

Shintaro Sakamoto pitched three innings with eight strikeouts; Haruto Kashiwasaki pitched two innings and gave up France's lone hit, while Rui Yano tossed a perfect sixth with a pair of strikeouts.

Mathis Bausset had France’s only hit of the game, a single to left field in the fourth inning.
French starter Maxime Olujic was charged with the loss. He pitched 3.2 frames allowing two hits and five runs.
Japan will play 1-1 Colombia on Tuesday, while 0-2 France is will close their opening round Monday against 1-1 Panama.
