At the bottom of the second, Mexico presented the whole lineup at-bat, adding seven more runs to lead at 9-0. The rally included Alejandro Arvizu’s three-run home run to deep center field.

Angel Ponce added a two-run homer along with four other runs by his teammates, extending the Mexican lead to 15-0.

Mexico starting pitcher Garcia pitched four innings, using 49 pitches, and striking out four.

Due to the run-difference rule, Mexico ended the game after four.

Mexico (4-0) have secured seventh place, no matter the score of the final game against New Zealand. Czechia dropped to 1-3 and will finish the tournament playing against Australia.
