Australia continued their winning ways as they easily disposed of Hong Kong China 8-0 in five innings and qualify as the top of the Group B in the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Shanghai Chongming Sports Training Center.

Chinese Taipei got back on track in the WBSC Softball Asia/Oceania Qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Shanghai Chongming Sports Training Center with their 7-0 win over Hong Kong China in five innings.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the Super Round schedule for the WBSC Softball Europe/Africa Qualifier in Utrecht, Netherlands. The field has been cut in half, with four nations remaining in the hunt for one historic ticket to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Baseball and softball will return to the 2020 Olympics after being absent for the 2012 and 2016 editions, with baseball/softball having grown to 65 million athletes across 140 countries worldwide. The bat-and-ball sport is one of five new events added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme, where baseball/softball, as the top sport in Japan, is expected to be one of the main attractions.

Botswana, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa and Spain will play the five-day tournament to decide which team will compete in Tokyo for the Olympic Games.
