Ellsworth took over as the team’s Head Coach shortly before the beginning of the WBSC Junior Men’s World Championship 2016 and led the team to a Bronze medal, and recently guided the team to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 event in Prince Albert, Canada.

WBSC Men’s Softball World Rankings expands to record 48 nations. South Africa takes over as the top-ranked African nation. All five Olympic continents featured within the Top 12.

Australia crowned today Junior Men’s Softball World Champions for the fifth time in history, defeating Japan, 6-1, with a historic performance by pitcher Layton Reid, who tossed a complete game no-hitter to lead his team to victory.

Shaun Lanagan threw a complete game, allowing only a run in the first. Jeremy Waters and Blake Jackson homered to give him run support. Japan will have another chance to reach the gold medal game on Sunday
