Seven new blind baseball coaches at work in Calabria, Italy

It's the main accomplishment of a clinic held in Reggio Calabria in collaboration with the local club San Giorgio. Another initiative is scheduled for March in Paternò, Sicily.

The Blind Baseball Commission of the Italian Baseball Softball Federation (FIBS) held a clinic on 11 and 12 February in Reggio Calabria in collaboration with the local club San Giorgio.

Marco Corazza, an instructor of the Italian Blind Baseball Association (AIBxC, a WBSC Associate Member), and Leonessa Breascia's Muhammad Usman introduced the rules of blind baseball.

Seven of the participants will receive a blind baseball coach license.

Visually impaired players from the Calabria and Sicily Region then took the field to make their first blind baseball experience.

"Hopefully, these initiatives will leave a mark," commented Barbara Menoni, the FIBS Blind Baseball Commission president.

Menoni also announced that a new clinic is scheduled for 10 and 11 March in Paternò, Sicily.
