Steve Tahlser becomes Frontier League's fifth Commissioner

The executive started his career in baseball as a member of the Results Staff for Baseball for the 1996 Olympics. The Frontier League is one of the MLB Partner Leagues.

After serving in various positions with the league for 26 years, Steve Tahsler was named the fifth Frontier League Commissioner.

"I am honoured to take over as League Commissioner and hope to continue to grow the League moving forward," Tahsler said via a press release. "The Frontier League has a tremendous history as the largest and longest-tenured MLB Partner League, and our future looks very bright amid the changing landscape of Minor League Baseball."

Tahsler, a graduate of Georgia State University, has served as deputy to Commissioner Eric Krupa, who stepped down in July 2023.

After working at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta as a member of the Results Staff for Baseball, Tahsler joined the Frontier League as Director of Operations for the Evansville Otters. He served as General Manager for the Windy City ThunderBolts, the Slippery Rock Sliders, Evansville Otters, and Dubois County Dragons. He earned Executive of the Year honours in 2005 and 2006.

The Frontier League was founded in 1993. Its 16 teams are based in Northeastern and Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada. The Quebec Capitales won the 2023 pennant.
