Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico get ready for WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Americas Qualifiers

Five weeks away from the tournament's opening day, Brazil and Puerto Rico named their roster for the tournament, while hosts Colombia listed 35 players in their preliminary roster.

The U-18 Women's Softball Pan American Championship, which will take place from 30 March to 6 April in Monteria, Colombia, will award the last five tickets to the World Cup and teams are getting ready for the key qualifier competition. Brazil and Puerto Rico named their roster for the tournament, while hosts Colombia listed 35 players in their preliminary roster.

World No. 23 Brazil, along with No. 1 USA, are already qualified for the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup as hosts of the group stage. However, the South Americans will participate in the continental tournament with the aim of not only tuning up for the World Cup but also qualifying for the Youth Pan American Games 2025.

Sao Paulo will host Group A of the World Cup between 23 and 27 July at Estádio Municipal de Beisebol "Mie Nishi". Brazil will face No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Czechia, No. 13 Great Britain, No. 32 New Zealand and one team coming from the Americas Qualifier.

You can find Brazil's team to compete in Monteria on the Brazilian Baseball and Softball Confederation (CBBS) website.

World No. 3 Puerto Rico has also named their 16-player roster for the Americas Qualifier. The Caribbean squad aims to repeat the bronze medal won at the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup 2021, but first they need to qualify for the World Cup in the Americas' event.

Puerto Rico is only 24 points behind world No. 2 Japan in the WBSC/KONAMI Women's Softball World Ranking, so a good performance in the Pan American Championship could represent a potential move to the top spot in the ranking and reach their highest position ever.

In addition, the Pan American Championship hosts and No. 39 in the world Colombia unveiled a list of 35 players for the tournament in Monteria. Colombia's goal in this tournament will be to qualify for the World Cup for the third time in history. They made their debut in 2015 and then in 2021 played in Peru.
