The VII U-12 Baseball World Cup by the numbers

A look at the medal rounds through the statistics. The overall statistical leaders: Keimel Paula (Dominican Republic) became the leading hitter. Yusuke Koma (Japan) had the most home runs and RBIs. Mexico's José Camargo had not allowed an earned run while striking out 15. Paris Head (USA) had the most stolen bases - five.

The United States won their fifth WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup posting impressive offensive numbers. Their lineup combined 99 hits, including 18 home runs and 18 doubles, and a .440 batting average with 171 total bases.

The difference with second-place Chinese Taipei was clear. The hosts posted a .327 batting average with 65 hits, including three home runs and 22 doubles. They ran 96 total bases.

Third place Venezuela had offensive numbers closer to those of Chinese Taipei. They combined 88 hits, including seven home runs and 17 doubles, with a batting average of .376.

Japan had the second-best power. They combined 87 hits, including 17 home runs and 15 doubles. They had a .399 batting average and ran 153 total bases.

USA pitching was not so brilliant, as the team's earned run average (ERA) was 3.67, with 38 walks and 60 strikeouts over 49 innings pitched.

The U-12 World Champions committed 11 errors and executed nine double plays.

The last game of the Super Round and the World Championship final hurt the Chinese Taipei pitching figures. The ERA grew to 2.54, with 22 walks and 52 strikeouts over 52 innings.

Chinese Taipei's defence committed 12 errors and turned 11 double plays.

Venezuela's staff posted a 3.41 ERA, with 25 walks and 57 strikeouts over 51 innings.
They had the best defence of the medal round. They committed only three errors and turned 11 double plays.

Japan had the second-best ERA, 2.84, allowed the fewest walks, 18, and struck out 50.
Their defence committed eight errors but managed to turn only eight double plays.

Keimel Paula (Dominican Republic) was the leading hitter. He posted a .583 batting average and a 1.083 slugging average.

Yusuke Koma (Japan) had led the other offensive categories with six home runs and 18 runs batted in.

Mexico's José Camargo had put together impressive numbers. He did not allow earned runs, won two games and struck out 15.

Mexico's Josè Burciaga prevailed in runs scored with 12, while USA's Paris Head had the most stolen bases at five.
