Tunisia to strengthen Baseball5 activity in schools and universities

Federation president Saber Jlajla confirmed the ultimate goal is to establish school and university National Championships.

The Tunisian Baseball Softball Federation (FTBS) signed a cooperation agreement with the National School and University Sports Federation to introduce Baseball5 at the four levels of education: primary, preparatory, secondary school and university.

"We keep working to make Baseball5 popular among students," commented Saber Jlajla, FTBS president, pictured above, with School and University Sports Federation president Aida Lengliz. "Our ultimate goal is to establish school and university National Championships."

Tunisia is No. 4 in the WBSC Baseball5 World Rankings after their National Teams finished sixth in the inaugural Baseball5 World Cup last year and eighth in this year's maiden Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

FTBS introduced Baseball5 to Tunisia in 2018 and organized the first National Championship in 2019. They introduced the five-on-five version of Baseball/Softball in 427 Youth Centres across Tunisia
