Two-time Olympic umpire Luis Alberto Ramirez inducted to Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame

He officiated at the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Games and the 2009 World Baseball Classic. The other inductees are Cecilio Ruiz, Juan Manuel Palafox, Miguel Flores and Ramón Orantes (Mexican players); Yovani Gallardo (Mexican MLB players), and Ricardo Sandate (veterans)

Umpire Luis Alberto Ramirez is among seven legends inducted into the Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame with the Class of 2024.

Ramirez has officiated games at the Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008 Olympics and the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

He has worked in the Mexican Baseball League since 1988 and has umpired for 36 seasons, appearing in 16 final series and eight All-Star Games.

From 2004 to 2017, Ramirez coordinated the LMB umpires and has served as the Umpiring Director since 2018.

The 55 members of the Induction Committee participated in the voting. Antonio de Valdés (president of the Induction Committee), Gabriel Medina (technical director of the Mexican Baseball League-LMB), Francisco Padilla (Hall of Fame director), Horacio Ibarra (Hall of Fame historian), and Jorge Enrique Reséndiz (vice president of the Mexican Pacific League-LMP) validated the results.

The other inductees are Juan Manuel Palafox, Ramon Orantes, Cecilio Ruiz and Miguel Flores (Mexican Baseball Players); Yovani Gallardo (Mexican in Major League Baseball-MLB; he recorded 121 wins and 1,584 strikeouts over 12 MLB seasons) and Ricardo Sandate (Veterans).
