The WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2023 MVP Tyler Early received the Richard W. 'Dick' Case Award together with World Baseball Classic silver medallist Trea Turner. It's the first time the organization honours two Athletes of the Year.

USA Baseball named the U-12 National Team the Team of the Year for the second consecutive time.

The US defeated the hosts Chinese Taipei on 6 August in the final, 10-4, to claim their fifth U-12 world title.

The VII WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup MVP Tyler Early was one of the two players honoured with the Richard W. Dick Case Award. The other is Trea Turner, the starting shortstop for the silver-medallists USA at the World Baseball Classic,

The Dick Case Award honours the memory of USA Baseball's founding CEO and goes to the player of the year. It's the first time in the organisation's history that two players are honoured.

Alex Hugo, who starred for the US at the Women's Baseball World Cup Group A, was named the Sportswoman of the Year for the second time in her career.

Mark DeRosa, who managed the United States to second place in the World Baseball Classic, earned the Rod Dedeaux Coach of the Year Award.

Veronica Alvarez, the Women's National Team manager, received the 'Doc' Councilman Science Award for her commitment to using scientific data and state-of-the-art technology.

Charlie Condon, who walked off the series' final game against Chinese Taipei for the Collegiate National Team, earned the International Performance of the Year Award.

USA Baseball also awarded Rob Shabansky (U-15 National Team manager) as Developmental Coach of the Year, Mike Kinkade (hitting coordinator of the U-13 and U-14 programme) as Volunteer Coach of the Year, Rick Eckstein (U-16 and U-17 programme) as Coach Educator of the Year and Josie Harding, who travelled with three National Teams in 2023, as Service Provider of the Year.

"It is a great privilege to reward our stellar athletes, coaches, and staff for their incredible achievements in 2023," said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball CEO. "We had another strong year in 2023, adding two more gold medals and a World Baseball Classic medal to our ledger. Before we turn our focus to continuing our international success in 2024, it is important for us to look back and recognize all of the individuals who contributed to another great year for USA Baseball."
