USA Baseball has completed its full coaching staff for the 2014 Women’s Baseball World Cup, becoming the first of the eight National Teams to reveal its managerial staff.

In January, USA Baseball named Jonathan Pollard to manage the US Women’s National Team. Pollard served as the pitching coach USA’s silver medal-winning squad at the 2012 IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup in Edmonton, Canada.

Mike Morgan and Dennis Keeley have been appointed assistant coaches; Matt Weagle will replace Pollard in the pitching coach’s role; Kim Moncel has again been appointed as the certified athletic trainer to oversee Team USA’s athletes’ health and conditioning, making it her third time with USA’s Women’s National Team. “In January, the staff worked together on the Women’s National Team Development Program in Boca Raton, Florida, and that experience will serve as the building blocks for a successful 2014 World Cup,” said USA Baseball Women’s National Team director Ashley Bratcher.

USA’s Women’s Baseball program is currently ranked No. 2 in the Women’s Baseball World Rankings and has medalled in each of the first five Women’s Baseball World Cups, winning gold medals at the first two editions in 2004 and 2006, bronze in 2008 and 2010, and silver in 2012.

Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, United States and Venezuela will all unite at the 6th Women’s Baseball World Cup in Miyazaki, Japan from the 1st – 7th of September.
