USA stay undefeated, Czech Republic celebrate second win in the U-12 Baseball World Cup

TAINAN, Chinese Taipei-USA beat Panama to stay undefeated, while Czech Republic celebrate their second win in the 2017 U-12 Baseball World Cup

The defending champion USA remained undefeated as they beat Panama 7-3. Team USA will head to the super round as the number one seed, while Panama can’t afford a loss against Australia tomorrow.
Pitchers struggled hard, combining 9 walks in the first 2 innings. Velazquez pitched the first for Team USA, allowing no hit but surrendering a couple of runs. Panama scored one in the second on reliever Atomanczyk. They used a base hit by left fielder Oda to manufacture the run: it will be their first and only in the game.
After 2 USA could come up with a 4-3 lead thanks to 4 hits, including a double by center fielder Reiland, off Adan Sanchez, who also hit a couple of batters. They had no need to look back. Atomanczyk (cover picture) settled down and took the lead into the sixth, allowing only one other runner (hit by putch) to reach and striking out 4. Bryce Rainer got the last 3 outs.
USA offense outhit (8-1) Panama and took advantage also of a couple of defensive errors to add one run in the third and 2 in the fifth.

Adan Sanchez was not at his best against Team USA

Czech Republic got their second win of the U-12 Baseball World Cup as they defeated South Africa 10-0.
A balk and a defensive error put them ahead in the first and Czech Republic didn’t need to look back. They scored 3 more in the third, highlighted by a double by third baseman Major and added 4 in the fourth, thanks to 3 hits, including a double by shortstop Winkler.
