V WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup - Day 1: USA, Puerto Rico, Panama, Cuba win their openers
The V WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2022 has kicked off in Hermosillo.
The 2022 WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup is officially open. USA topped South Africa, 29-0, in Game 1 of the competition at the Hector Espino Stadium, while Puerto Rico defeated Venezuela, 7-0, at Sonora Stadium. Panama no-hit Colombia, 10-0, and Cuba defeated host Mexico, 4-2 to close Day 1 action.

Top 7th - CUB 4-2 MEX: Pedro Danguillecourt scores the security run for Cuba on a wild pitch.
Bottom 3rd - CUB 3-2 MEX: Mexico makes it a one run ballgame. After loading the bases with a pair of walks and a hit batter, the hosts scored on a wild pitch and a Yustin Canizales RBI single.
Top 2nd - CUB 3-0 MEX: Yaider Ruiz produced the first run of the game for Cuba with a double down the right field line. Dulieski Ferran scored from second. A pair of sac flies completed the three-run rally.

Bottom 2nd - COL 0-2 PAN: Panama jumps ahead, as Jorge Pinilla hits a double down the right field line to score Cesar Garcia. Luis Plicet hits a sac fly to make it 2-0.
