Venezuela beat Bolivia to win Youth Bolivarian Games Sucre 2024 Baseball5 event

The Venezuelan team defeated hosts Bolivia in consecutive sets, 12-2 and 10-0, in the final match of the Baseball5 competition.

World No. 17 Venezuela claimed the Baseball5 gold medal at the Youth Bolivarian Games Sucre 2024 after defeating Bolivia in consecutive sets, 12-2 and 10-0, in the final match of the Baseball5 competition. 

After the round robin, Venezuela advanced directly to the final as the top-seeded team, while Bolivia and Peru faced each other in the bronze medal game, to determine the second team in the final. Bolivia advanced to the final with a 11-1 and 7-0 win.

The Baseball5 competition at Sucre 2024 took place at the Garcilazo Sports Complex, at a purpose-built Baseball5 diamond, from April 4 to 6.

It was Baseball5's first appearance in a multi-sport event. Sucre 2024, the inaugural edition of the Youth Bolivarian Games, represents South America's first regional multi-sport event in the four-year cycle leading up to the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026.

South America was the host of the first ever WBSC international Baseball5 tournament with the Open of the Americas in Cartagena de Las Indians, Colombia in 2019.
