Venezuela to host WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier

Five out of 10 participants will qualify for the fifth WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup, to be staged in Hermosillo, Mexico, from 26 August to 4 September.

Venezuela will host the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier in the Carabobo State. José Bernardo Perez Stadium in Valencia will be the main venue, while Independencia Stadium in Puerto Cabello and 4Pro City in San Diego will be the additional venues.

The continental tournament is scheduled from 3 to 12 June. The 10 participating National Teams are World No. 25 Brazil, No. 11 Colombia, No. 9 Cuba, No. 7 Dominican Republic, No. 48 Honduras, No. 15 Nicaragua, No. 13 Panama, No. 16 Puerto Rico, No. 66 US Virgin Islands and No. 6 Venezuela.

The top five teams in the Americas event will qualify for the U-15 World Cup.

Venezuela manager Juan Morales is already working on a 58-player pre-selection and plans on finalising his roster for the qualifier after the Venezuelan National Championship, scheduled from 5 to 11 May.

The WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup is scheduled from 26 August to 4 September in Hermosillo, Mexico. World No. 5 United States are the defending U-15 World Champions.

World No. 14 Czech Republic and No. 22 France (Europe) are the only National Teams qualified so far. Teams from Asia (2), Africa (1), Oceania (1), and a wild card are also to be determined.

Hermosillo will host the fifth edition of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup. The WBSC (the International Baseball Federation [IBAF] at the time) previously held a U-16 (‘AA’) Baseball World Cup from 1989 to 2011.
