Hong Kong, China; India, Japan, Singapore and Chinese Taipei will battle for the two available spots in the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup 2023.

Five Asian teams will open on 22 June the three-day U-18 Men’s Softball Asia Cup in Kochi, Japan, looking for the two Asia representatives at the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup, scheduled from 11 to 19 November in Hermosillo, Mexico. Nine games will be live-streamed for free on GameTime.

World No. 3 Japan, No. 12 Singapore, No. 20 Chinese Taipei, No. 22 India and No. 25 Hong Kong, China; will play a single round robin to open the tournament:

22 June

  • 9:00 - HKG v SGP
  • 12:00 - HKG v JPN
  • 12:30 - SGP v TPE
  • 15:00 - JPN v IND

23 June

  • 9:00 - HKG v TPE
  • 9:30 - IND v SGP
  • 12:00 - JPN v TPE
  • 12:30 - HKG v IND
  • 15:00 - JPN v SGP

24 June

  • 8.30 - IND v TPE
  • 11:00 - Bronze Medal - #3 v #4
  • 13:00 - Gold Medal - #1 v #2

The first and second placed teams on completion of the opening round will advance to the World Cup and play in the gold medal game, with the winner being awarded the title of Asia champion of U-18 Men Softball. The third and fourth placed teams from the opening round will play for the bronze medal.

Thw XIV WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup will take place in Hermosillo, Mexico, from 11 to 19 November 2023 at Mundialistas Hermosillenses Stadium and Fernando M. Ortiz Field.

World No. 2 Australia, No. 7 New Zealand (Oceania), No. 10 Mexico (Host) and No. 14 South Africa have already qualified for the global competition.

Japan is the reigning U-18 Men’s Softball World Champion, after winning undefeated the 2020 edition of the tournament in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
