WBSC announces changes to U-12 Baseball World Cup schedule

The Japan-Dominican Republic opener on 29 July has been postponed to Wednesday, 3 August, which is programmed as a rest/make-up day.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced changes to the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup schedule.

The Dominican Republic National Team recently informed the WBSC and the Local Organising Committee that its Delegation´s arrival has been delayed due to travel logistics difficulties. The arrival of the world No. 7 National Team in Tainan is now expected on Friday, 29 July, which is Opening Day. Due to the quarantine protocols in place for all participants, the Dominican Republic will not be able to play on Days 1 and 2.

The Japan-Dominican Republic opener on 29 July has been postponed to Wednesday, 3 August, which is programmed as a rest/make-up day. The Dominican Republic is not scheduled to play on Day 2 (Saturday, 30 July) and will debut in the tournament on Day 3 (Sunday, 31 July) against USA.

The VI WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup opens this Friday, with four games on the schedule:

10:30 South Africa vs. Mexico (Asia Pacific Main Stadium)
14:30 Czech Republic vs. USA (Asia Pacific Main Stadium)
14:30 Italy vs. Venezuela (Asia Pacific Field 2)
18:30 Panama vs. Chinese Taipei (Asia Pacific Main Stadium).
