WBSC Executive Board approves changes to U-15 Women's Softball World Cup Tournament Regulations

The Softball Technical Commission recommendations included increasing the pitching distance to 40 feet (12.18 metres) and the number of innings from five to seven.

The WBSC Executive Board has approved two changes to the WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup Tournament Regulations recommended by the Softball Technical Commission.

The main change concerns the pitching rubber distance, which becomes 40 feet (or 12.18 metres) from the previous 38 (or 11.58) to align closer to the other age groups (which is 43 feet or 13.11m for U-18 & Women's Softball World Cup).

The Technical Commission also recommended increasing the number of innings from five to seven since member countries very rarely use the five-inning format in the age bracket.

The inaugural WBSC U-15 Women's Softball World Cup is scheduled to take place in Japan from 21 to 29 October.

World No. 1 USA, No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Chinese Taipei, No. 4 Puerto Rico, No. 6 Mexico, No. 7 Czechia, No. 8 Italy, No. 18 Brazil, No. 19 Peru, No. 26 Philippines, No. 29 New Zealand and Uganda are the 12 qualified National Teams.
