WBSC releases Baseball5 Toolkit in French, runs workshop in Lausanne, Switzerland

The toolkit is a 61-page publication introducing Baseball5 as a new discipline and as a physical education tool.

On September 5 and 6, the WBSC in conjunction with the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation hosted a Baseball5 Workshop at the Haute Ecole Pédagogique du Canton de Vaud, Lausanne, for physical education teachers from schools.

On the occasion of the workshop, the WBSC released the Baseball5 Toolkit in French, the sixth language for this document. Previously, the toolkit was published in EnglishSpanishAlbanianArabic and German. The toolkit is a 61-page publication introducing Baseball5 as a new discipline and as a physical education tool. It includes guidance to starting the activity, setting up a Baseball5 field and playing games.

WBSC Baseball5 Instructor Alice Ronchetti, who played for the Italian national softball team, lectured more than 70 Physical Education teachers in the Vaud Canton (from approximately 45 different schools), with an indirect impact to potentially over 1,500 young boys and girls who will be introduced to Baseball5.

The workshop included three different sessions of 150 minutes each, where the participants were introduced to the basics of the urban discipline through a mix of theoretic and practice activities.

After the workshop, every participant received a WBSC bag with a copy of the Baseball5 Toolkit in French and Baseball5 merchandising. In addition, every participating school received a dozen of Baseball5 balls to be used in class.
