With two months to go before the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage begins, media accreditation is now open for the biggest international softball event in the world. All local/national and international media members can now apply for accreditation using the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at my.wbsc.org.
The WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group
Stage will be played in three different locations.
Group A will be played in Fingal-Dublin, Ireland, from 11-15 July. No. 1 USA, No. 3 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Australia, No. 16 Great Britain, No. 17 Ireland and No. 43 Botswana will play the Opening Round from 11-14 July, with the Play-Offs on 15 July. See Group A’s schedule here.
Group B will take place in Valencia, Spain, from 18-22 July, with No. 4 Puerto Rico, No. 10 Netherlands, No. 11 China, No. 12 Spain, No. 28 Cuba and No. 38 South Africa battling for the two spots in the Finals. Group B Opening Round will be staged from 18-21 July, with the Play-Offs on 22 July. See Group B’s schedule here.
Group C will be hosted by Buttrio and Castions di Strada, Italy, from 22-26 July. No. 2 Japan, No. 5 Canada, No. 8 Italy, No. 22 Venezuela, No. 26 Philippines and No. 29 New Zealand will compete in this group. See Group C’s schedule here.
Members of the media are required to
submit an individual request for each of the groups.
The deadlines to register are:
- Group A (IRL): 7 July
- Group B (ESP): 14 July
- Group C (ITA): 18 July
How To Apply
The accreditation procedure starts by clicking on "MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS" on the official WBSC Media Accreditation online platform at my.wbsc.org. The online form needs to be completed, including also a headshot.
Once the request is submitted, media members will receive an
automated confirmation e-mail and then can check the status of their
request by:
- Visit the my.wbsc.org website.
- Click on "Media Accreditations"
- Click on “Search for your accreditations”
- Enter name, last name and email address (the same used in the request).
- A list of the accreditation requests will appear.
Approved media will receive additional onsite logistical details
(i.e., where to pick up credentials, facility access, press conferences, media
interview opportunities).
A total of 57 games will be played across the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage. Each group will play a four-day, 15-game round robin
with the top four teams advancing to the Play-Offs. The top two sides
after the Opening Round will play each other with a
ticket to the Finals at stake, while
the loser of the first play-off game will then play
against the third v fourth winner for the second spot in the Finals.
Exact dates and schedule for the XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World
Cup Finals 2024 will be announced at a later stage.
