Women’s Softball World Cup: Netherlands to open friendly series against Czechia, announce pre-World Cup schedule

Following the series against Czechia, the Netherlands will also host world No. 3 Chinese Taipei from 21-27 June.

The Dutch Women’s National Softball Team open today a four-game series against Czechia, the first match of a 14-game pre-World Cup schedule unveiled by the Netherlands. The Dutch team will compete in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group B from 18-22 July in Valencia, Spain.

The series between No. 10 Netherlands and No. 7 Czechia opens on Monday in Hoofddorp at the Pioniers Ballpark. The Ballpark Neptunus in Rotterdam will host the two national teams on 23 May; and the Knickenbockers Ballpark in Soest will be the venue for the last game on 24 Wednesday.

The Netherlands will host a second friendly series from 21-27 June, against world No. 3 Chinese Taipei. The WBSC-sanctioned five-game meet includes contests at Textown Tigers Ballpark in Enschede; Olympia Haarlem Ballpark in Haarlem; Roef Ballpark in Moergestel; Red Lions Ballpark in Rijswijk and Dragons Ballpark in Houten.

The Netherlands will then head to Czechia to participate in the Prague Softball Week from 29 June to 3 July, where the European champions will face world No. 9 Australia, Chinese Taipei and Czechia.

A week later, the Netherlands will open Group B of the World Cup against No. 28 Cuba, followed by games against No. 11 China, No. 12 Spain, No. 38 South Africa and No. 4 Puerto Rico.
