World champions help Cuba to get ready for I WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in Türkiye

“We will put together a very good National Team," said WBSC Baseball5 World Cup MVP Briandy Molina.

The Cuban Youth National Baseball5 Team started their training process for their historic debut in the first ever WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup, to be staged from 10 to 15 October in Ankara, Türkiye.

Baseball5 world champion manager Pablo Terry and World Cup MVP Briandy Molina helped the young team to prepare for Cuba’s first ever international youth competition.

“We are doing a strong job on the players' actions, from a defensive point of view,” said Terry. “That is, the placement of the players on the bases, how to tag the runner, the forced out, the double play combination, the position they must have to solve the throws depending on the side they come from.”

Terry also recognised that the young players are very receptive to all the instructions of their coaches.

“The plyers look very well prepared, and I think that the coaches are doing a good job both in technical-tactical matters, as well as in offensive and defensive skills,” explained Molina. “We will put together a very good National Team."

“The boys have an average speed hitting above 64 miles, and I think they are a fairly offensive team,” added Molina. “We are doing a great job on the hitting technique, especially to improve the women's hitting.»

Eros Bernal Morales, Baseball5 technical director in Cuba, said that the players arrived with a good preparation and have had performance standards in line with the challenges ahead.

Cuba, world champions in the I WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, will arrive to Ankara as the sixth nation in the WBSC Baseball5 World Rankings.
