The XIII South American Championship in Santiago de Chile is set to commence on Saturday with the first three games of the preliminary round robin. Argentina, which is the defending champion, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile will participate. The first four teams of the first round qualify for the semi-finals on September 20. The champion will be crowned one day later.
