XXVI Pan-American 12U Championship: Results Day 2, November 3

The XXVI Pan American 12U Baseball Championship in Barranquilla, Colombia continued on Saturday with the second game day. Panama and Colombia celebrated their second wins.

The XXVI Pan American 12U Baseball Championship in Barranquilla, Colombia continued on Saturday with the second game day. Panama and Colombia celebrated their second wins.

In the first game of the day, Panama routed Peru 15-0 in four innings. After taking a 1-0 lead in the first, the Central Americans put four runs on the board in the second and third apiece and six in the fourth. Center fielder Carlos Daniel Zaldivar hit for the cycle, going 4-for-4 with a homerun, a triple, a double, two runs scored and seven RBI. Jose Alexander Villarreal scored three times. Villarreal also combined with Yarriel Eddson Barrios to throw four scoreless no-hit innings. Joaquin Espinoza was charged with the loss.

In the second game host Colombia stormed past the Dominican Republic with 12-2 win. They took a quick 5-2 lead after three innings and blew the score open with seven runs in the last two frames of the seven-inning affair. Andres Galeano collected three hits, a homerun, three runs scored and four RBI to pace Colombia to the victory. Julio Hernandez also crossed the plate three times. Fabian Pertuz pitched five innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Juan Manuel Them Paulino took the loss for the Dominican team.
