XXVI Pan-American 12U Championship: Results Day 3, November 4

The XXVI Pan-American 12U Baseball Championship in Barranquilla, Colombia continued on Sunday with day three of the competition. Brazil stunned the Dominican Republic to pick up its first win of the tournament, while Panama won the duel of undefeated teams against host Colombia.

In the first game of the day Brazil edged out the Dominican squad with a 3-2 win, scoring the decisive run in the top of the seventh and last inning. Erick Yucji Lacerda drove in two of the three runs. Leonardo Barriviera collected three hits at the plate and the save on the mound, pitching a scoreless seventh inning to close it out. Felipe Pereira allowed two hits (1 ER) on six hits and a walk in six innings for the win. Oscar Enrique Felix was charged with the loss. He also doubled twice on offense.

In the second game on Sunday Panama scored eight of their nine runs in the fourth and the fifth innings to erase a 0-2 deficit in a 9-4 victory over Colombia. Pablo Jesus Falconett drove in three in the meeting of 2-0 clubs. Antonio Melquiades pitched five solid innings for the win, while crossing the plate twice on offense. Francisco Acuna doubled and scored for Colombia. Nestor Carta issued five runs on four hits and three walks to take the loss.
