Japan Diamond League unveils schedule for 2024 season

The pro softball league season will begin on Friday 12 April at Ogaki City Kita Koen Baseball Stadium (Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture) and Denso Bright Pegasus Stadium (Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture).

The Japan Diamond League (JD.League), one of the biggest women's softball league in the world, announced the schedule for its 2024 season, which will begin on Friday 12 April at Ogaki City Kita Koen Baseball Stadium (Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture) and Denso Bright Pegasus Stadium (Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture).

You can see the schedule here (in Japanese).

The regular season will consist of 232 games (including 168 divisional games and 64 inter-league games), with each team playing a total of 29 games. The team with the highest winning percentage at the end will be the divisional leaders.

The top-three teams in both divisions, along with a wild card, will advance to the post season, with the divisional leaders qualifying directly for the Diamond Series. The play-offs will open with the wild card team (the fourth-place team with the highest winning percentage) playing against the third-place finisher from the opposing division. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals, where the two second-place finishers and the remaining third-place team await.

The winners of these two contests will then qualify for the Diamond Series 2024 against the top-seeded team after the regular season. This series comprises the two semifinals and the final.

Tickets for the regular season will be available in mid-March.

In 2023, Toyota Red Terriers broke the Bic Camera Takasaki Bee Queen streak of three consecutive titles, with a 2-0 win in the Final of the Diamond Series, with a combined shutout from Megan Faraimo and Miu Goto.
