Schedule announced for WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Americas Qualifier in Colombia

The event will take place at Amin Manzur Stadium in Monteria, Colombia, between 30 March and 6 April, with a total of 11 participating teams. The event will also serve as a qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025.

WBSC Americas Softball unveiled the game schedule of the V U-18 Women's Softball Pan American Championship, the continental qualifier for the WBSC World Cup. The event will take place at Amin Manzur Stadium in Monteria, Colombia, between 30 March and 6 April, with a total of 11 participating teams. The event will also serve as a qualifier for the Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025.

The teams have been allocated into two groups to open the tournament. Group A includes No. 7 Mexico, No. 16 Peru, No. 29 Argentina, No. 33 Dominican Republic and No. 39 Colombia. In Group B will play No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 5 Canada, No. 11 Cuba, No. 17 Venezuela, No. 23 Brazil and No. 62 U.S. Virgin Islands.

A total of 42 games will be played during the tournament, including the Super Round - which will be played by the top three teams from each group - and the medal games.

The top five in the final standings will earn a ticket to the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup, which will begin later this year with the group stage. Six tickets to the Junior Pan Am Games are up for grabs.

As hosts of the groups A and C of the World Cup respectively, Brazil and No. 1 USA are already qualified for the World Cup (USA is also qualified for the Junior Pan Am Games). Sao Paulo will host Group A from 23 to 27 July; while Dallas will stage Group C from 29 August to 2 September. Group B is scheduled between 14 and 18 August in Pingtan, China.

A total of 13 teams have secured their spot in the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup, with the five teams coming out from the Americas Qualifier completing the field. 

  • Group A: No. 4 Chinese Taipei, No. 9 Czechia, No. 13 Great Britain, Brazil (hosts), No. 32 New Zealand, and one team from the Americas.
  • Group B: No. 2 Japan, No. 6 Italy, No. 8 Netherlands, No. 15 China (hosts) and two teams from the Americas. 
  • Group C: USA (hosts) No. 10 Australia, No. 14 Philippines, No. 21 Ireland, and two teams from the Americas. 

The top two teams from each group, plus two wild cards, will advance to the World Championship Finals, to be played in Dallas in the summer of 2025, in the same facilities of Group C.
