Baseball Canada congratulated Sena Catterall, Alizée Gélinas, and Raine Padgham on their confirmed participation in the Australian Women's Baseball Showcase, which will be held from 9 to 12 May at the Albert Park Baseball Complex in Lismore, New South Wales.
Catterall, who made her National Team debut in 2019, played centre field for Canada at the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A in 2023. She helped Canada qualify for the finals posting a .455 batting average
Gélinas, who can play both infield corner positions and pitch, made her National Team debut in 2021. She started three games for Canada at last year's World Cup group stage tournament.
Padgham, who has also played for Canada since 2021, was Canada's ace at the IX WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup Group A. She earned two wins, including the opening game against Mexico. She also made an impact offensively, going 3-for-7.
This is the second time Canadian Women’s Baseball National Team members have travelled to Australia for the showcase. In 2022, Claire Eccles, Alexane Fournier and Alli Schroder took part.
